Purpose

Locations turns screenplay and breakdown data into reusable environment guidance. Use it to define where scenes happen, how those places should look, and which references should guide generation.

Prerequisites

  • An active project is required.
  • Script Supervisor breakdowns should be complete before relying on automatic scene grouping.
  • Style guidance should be reviewed before generating many location references.

Core Areas

  • Location list: browse project locations or scene-specific environments.
  • Detail editor: refine description, era, lighting, geography, production design notes, and prompt text.
  • References: attach approved images or generate location looks for continuity.
  • Scene mode: check how the same location is used across different screenplay scenes.

Workflow

  1. Open Locations after Breakdowns have identified scenes and environments.
  2. Merge or rename duplicate locations if the script analysis split one place into several variants.
  3. Refine location descriptions until they are specific enough for image and video prompts.
  4. Generate or attach reference images for important spaces.
  5. Approve the strongest references before using them in Storyboarding or Video Generator.

Common Corrections

  • Duplicate place names: consolidate manually before bulk storyboard generation.
  • Generic environment notes: add time period, architectural style, practical props, lighting, and mood.
  • Wrong scene association: verify the active scene selection before saving location edits.

Reference controlsUpload, select, generate, approve, or remove location references.Approved references guide Storyboarding and Video Generator.
Merge/rename cleanupConsolidates duplicated or unclear location names.Use before bulk storyboard or queue generation.
Save/regeneratePersists manual edits or refreshes analysis-generated location data.Regenerate only after upstream script context changes.
