Dashboard
Project home screen for selection, metadata, source documents, and generation progress.
Layout Map
- Project Status Card: top project summary with key actions (rename/delete/switch, reviews, timeline viewer, asset browser).
- Project Metadata Panel: project-level metadata context and status.
- Generation Progress Card: active generation logs and progress controls.
- Source Documents Section: screenplay/logline/beat-sheet and document actions.
- Global Modals: new project, auto-generate, casting review, sets review, timeline viewer, and project switcher.
Panel-by-Panel Reference
Project Status Card
Operational hub for current project. Use it to open reviews, upload screenplay files, rehydrate data, and jump into timeline or assets.
Generation Progress Card
Shows running generation state and logs. Use this as your first stop when users ask "did that run?".
Source Documents Section
Manage screenplay and supporting documents: upload, view, set active screenplay, preprocess, and route into development pages.
Project Switcher Overlay
Fast context switching across projects. Always verify selected project before running generation-heavy actions.
Daily Workflow
- Select the project in Dashboard.
- Confirm source documents are current (screenplay/logline/beat-sheet).
- Open progress card to verify no failed background tasks are blocking.
- Branch into Breakdowns, Departments, Storyboarding, or Generators from there.
Common Issues
- If Dashboard is empty, no project is selected or no project exists yet.
- If document actions are disabled, screenplay context may still be processing.
- If generation appears stalled, check progress card logs before retrying.
Controls and Functions
| Control | Function | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Project switcher | Opens the project selection overlay for changing the active workspace. | Always verify this before running generation, imports, or destructive project actions. |
| Create project | Starts a new project record and initializes project-scoped storage and metadata. | New projects begin empty until documents or generated assets are added. |
| Rename and delete project | Updates display naming or requests project removal through guarded dialogs. | Delete actions should be treated as destructive and confirmed carefully. |
| Upload screenplay/source document | Adds a source file to the project and can trigger preprocessing. | Use supported screenplay formats for best downstream scene parsing. |
| Open source document | Views or opens project documents for inspection. | Use this when checking whether downstream analysis used the right source. |
| Preprocess/rehydrate document actions | Refresh structured screenplay metadata from source documents. | Run this when scene data looks stale or missing. |
| Timeline viewer | Opens a preview of timeline-related project output. | Use for quick review without entering the full timeline editor. |
| Asset Browser shortcut | Opens the current project media library. | Best first stop for finding generated or imported outputs. |
| Generation progress card | Displays current and recent job state, progress, and logs. | Use this before retrying a job that appears stuck. |
| Reference wall/project summary cards | Summarize current assets, documents, and production state. | Use to spot missing prep material before bulk generation. |
